Cherina Mastrantones and Feliciano Arango

This book is an accumulation of three years of private study with Feliciano Arango. His teaching style requires his students to have a series of specific questions or difficulties that you are interested in learning about. My questions would elicit further illuminations into the vast knowledge that Feliciano has mastered.
In July of 2007 we discussed compiling all of the years of study into a final format for all bassists worldwide interested in Timba.
We hope to ellicit more questions, inquiry, and sharing of information for all musicians interested in Cuban Timba
“Feliciano Arango has played bass with NG from the beginning and stands alone as the most influential and innovative bassist in Timba history. Like the others, he had graduated from the Havana conservatories as a classical musician but had also mastered Jazz, Funk and all forms of Cuban pop music, past and present. As anyone who has every seen him play will confirm, he's one of the best bassists in the world. In addition to his original and funky tumbaos he's a phenomenal soloist and can be heard in his various jazz recordings and his work with his own group, “Los Hermanos Arango”.

He is a Founding Member of the Cuban musical group NG La Banda, and has played with them from 1989-2003. NG LA Banda is best known for “inventing” and coining the Timba style of Cuban music.
